Time : Our Precious Gift

“Time is a natural resource – like fuel. When it is abundant, we take it for granted; when it becomes scarce, we search for that extra gallon, regardless of cost. Wouldn’t you give anything for another gallon of time with some of your friends who are gone? Time is a precious gift — every second, every minute, every day — use it wisely.
You cannot pay the cost of losing time.”

— Sonny Gann

Get your rest! The more rested you are, the more you can accomplish in a shorter period. If you’re tired, you’re usually slower, rework more and end up even more exhausted. Take care of yourself! Stress Management

Connecting Your Mind and Body

Think of your body as a car, and then realise that your body is the most complex vehicle on the planet. Some 50,000 million cells make up your body, forming your bones, muscles, nerves, skin, blood, and other organs and body tissues. None of these systems works in isolation – they all communicate through highly sophisticated pathways of information signalling.

As you consider your mind and body as one system rather than as two separate and unrelated parts, you notice how the two are inseparable. When your state of mind is calm, clear, and focused, your physical performance is likely to be at its best. Conversely, if your mind is confused and frazzled, then it’s likely that you will be off balance physically, experiencing symptoms from clumsiness to butterflies in your stomach. Get Into Friendship

There’s nothing like good friends. They congratulate and console. They offer a sympathetic ear and a second opinion. They provide company and merriment. And they help you feel good about yourself.
You don’t need one particular best friend, and you don’t need to be popular. But you do need a real friend or two. As Francis Bacon put it, “Without friends, the world is but a wilderness.”

Learning to be friendly and to befriend others is every bit as important as academic learning. Some girls make the mistake of competing with their friends or of becoming possessive or jealous of them. Others twist themselves into knots trying to win popularity contests. Others retreat behind shyness and live lonely lives. Read the rest of this entry »

Love Yourself First

To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance.
–Oscar Wilde–

Love yourself. Love the things that make you you.Your values and talents and memories.Your clothes, your nose, your woes. If you love yourself, you can jump into your life from a springboard of self-confidence. If you love yourself, you can say what you want to say, go where you want to go. The world can be a tough place, and some of the billions of people out there will try to knock you down. Don’t join them. Do things that make you proud, then take pride in what you do. And in who you are. Read the rest of this entry »

Sex Revolution - From 50’s till Now

It wasn’t long ago that people could hardly talk about sex. Even as recently as the 1950s, it was considered taboo for people to have conversations about how they could improve their sex lives. In the 1960s and 1970s, people began to talk more openly about sex. The sexual revolution of those years incited our culture to have a greater comfort level with sex.
However, in the 1980s, the AIDS epidemic put a damper on sexual freedom. People were told that sex could kill. All of the freedom that was felt in the 1960s and 1970s turned into restraint in the 1980s. In the 1990s we entered a time when we could talk more openly about sex than ever before. There has been no time before now that so many sexual issues have been out in the open. Because of the sexually explicit nature of television, movies, magazines, books, many Internet sites, and even stories in the news, we talk about everything from adultery to anal sex to masturbation—topics that were formally taboo.
